World-Class Hard Coking Coal Project,
Bowen Basin Queensland

Futura Resources Ltd owns and operates two adjacent coking coal mines - Wilton and Fairhill - located near Emerald in Queensland’s Bowen Basin.

 

Together, the projects contain two large, near-surface coking coal deposits with a global resource of 3.5 billion tonnes, including over 700 million tonnes shallower than 100 metres, providing a long-life foundation for premium hard coking coal production.

 

Futura commenced mining at the Wilton Mine in December 2023, achieving first coal mined in February 2024 and first shipments in April 2024. The Wilton operation is now fully operational with the equipment and infrastructure in place to support a medium-term production target of 1 million tonnes per annum.

 

Futura’s second operation, the Fairhill Mine, commenced in November 2024, with first coal mined in March 2025 and first shipment in June 2025.

 

Futura is committed to operating safely and sustainably, working closely with the local community and prioritising the use of local employees, contractors, and suppliers as it builds a strong, long-term presence in the Bowen Basin.
